Location: Dallas, TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week) — No nights or weekends
Pay: $32.00–$37.00/hour + $5.36/hour Health & Welfare Benefit (Total Compensation up to $42.36/hour)
Anticipated Start Date: September 2026
About the Opportunity
We are a staffing agency recruiting on behalf of a reputed client in Dallas, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Journeyman HVAC Technician to join a long-term federal contract supporting a major healthcare facility.
The contract includes a base period with multiple option years and has the potential to continue through January 2029, offering long-term job stability and a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule.
What You'll Do
As an A/C Equipment Mechanic (Journeyman HVAC), you will install, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment across a large healthcare campus.
Responsibilities include:

Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on HVAC equipment.

Troubleshoot refrigerant leaks and mechanical issues.

Service compressors, motors, pumps, fans, and related components.

Work on central chilled-water systems and equipment up to 500 tons and machinery up to 300 HP.

Adjust, calibrate, and troubleshoot HVAC controls.

Perform repairs involving mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic control systems.

Conduct chemical treatment and maintenance of HVAC water systems.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics.

Ensure all work complies with federal safety and facility standards.
Requirements

Active State of Texas HVAC License (copy required)
-
Siemens Building Controls Training (proof required)
-
OSHA Certification (OSHA 10 minimum)

Minimum 4 years of journeyman-level HVAC/Refrigeration experience

Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams

Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain a VA identification badge

Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor, outdoor, and confined environments

Must own basic HVAC hand tools, including:

Screwdrivers

Pliers
-
Wrenches
-
Socket set
-
Hex keys
-
Service valve wrench
-
Fin comb
-
Multimeter with amp clamp
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Technicians are expected to have or wear:

Arc-rated or natural-fiber long-sleeve shirts and pants

ANSI-approved steel-toe boots
-
Hearing protection
-
Safety glasses/eye protection
Benefits
